Audio Transcriber

Turns audio recordings into text. Meeting recordings, dictations, podcasts, interviews - any spoken content. Built on OpenAI's Whisper model.

What it does

Use this to produce meeting minutes from recordings, generate written transcripts of podcasts, turn lectures into notes, or convert voice messages into text.

How to use

  1. Drag audio files into the list.
  2. Pick an AI Model (quality vs speed).
  3. Pick a Source Language: Auto-Detect or a specific language.
  4. Click Run.

You get a .txt transcript per file.

AI models

ModelSpeedQuality
tinyVery fastLow, draft only
baseFastMedium, balanced for everyday
smallModerateGood, enough for most cases
mediumSlowHigh, for important work
largeVery slowHighest, professional use

Bigger models transcribe more accurately but need more RAM and time.

Language options

  • Auto-Detect: The model spots the language. Use for mixed-language recordings.
  • Turkish (tr): Turkish-only content.
  • English (en): English-only.
  • German (de), French (fr), Spanish (es): Other European languages.

Picking the correct language explicitly improves accuracy.

Examples

Meeting minutes: Add the meeting recording, model small, language English, run. The output .txt is your written record.

Written versions of podcast episodes: Add the episodes, model medium, language English, run. SEO-friendly transcripts.

Notes from a lecture: Add the recording, model base, language auto, run. Quick draft.

High-accuracy interview: Add the interview, model large, language English, run.

Watch out

  • The first run downloads the Whisper model (~100MB to ~3GB depending on size). Later runs are offline.
  • Bigger models (medium, large) need a lot of RAM, older machines run them slowly.
  • Noisy recordings produce worse results. Run Denoiser first.
  • Very poor microphone quality may make the output unusable.
  • This does not separate speakers. For that use Speaker Diarizer.
  • Punctuation and sentence structure are usually good, but proper nouns can be misspelt.
