PDF Metadata

Edits the title, author, subject, keywords and other document properties across many PDFs at once. Includes a one-click mode that strips all existing metadata for privacy.

What it does

Use this to change the "Author", "Title" or "Producer" fields embedded in your PDFs. You can rewrite the author on 80 contracts at once, wipe all identifying traces from leaked documents, or tag your archive with searchable keywords.

How to use

  1. Drag PDFs into the list.
  2. If you want to wipe all existing metadata first, check Strip All Existing Metadata.
  3. Fill in the fields you want to write (Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer). Blank fields are left alone.
  4. Click Run.

Editable fields

  • Title: Document title shown in the PDF reader's window header.
  • Author: Person or company who created it.
  • Subject: Short description.
  • Keywords: For search, comma-separated.
  • Creator: Source application (e.g. Microsoft Word).
  • Producer: PDF engine that produced the file.

Two modes

  • Strip All OFF (default): Only the fields you fill are written. Blank fields are untouched, original values stay.
  • Strip All ON: Every existing metadata entry is wiped first, then your filled fields are written. Anything you left blank ends up empty in the PDF.

Examples

Bulk reassign author: Add 80 contracts, type Demir Law Firm into Author, leave the rest blank. Only the author field changes.

Full anonymisation: Add sensitive PDFs, turn Strip All on, leave all fields blank. Every original metadata trace is removed.

Publishing standard: Add book PDFs, turn Strip All on, fill Creator and Producer with your corporate values.

SEO keywords: Add tax-related PDFs, type tax, 2026, vat, return into Keywords. Everything else stays as it was.

Watch out

  • The tool may overwrite the original file. Back up important documents first.
  • Editing metadata on a digitally signed PDF invalidates the signature. Do not use it on signed files.
  • Encrypted PDFs cannot be processed. Unlock them with PDF Encrypt first.
  • Creation Date cannot be edited, it is preserved or wiped with Strip All.
