Video Metadata

Strips hidden identifying info (author, GPS, capture device, dates) from videos in bulk, and optionally rewrites it with your own title and author.

What it does

Use this to wipe location data from social-media uploads, stamp brand info onto corporate video production, remove GPS from drone footage, or clean old device/software signatures.

How to use

  1. Drag video files into the list.
  2. Tick Strip All Metadata (Anonymize) (on by default).
  3. Optionally fill in Custom Title and Author / Artist.
  4. Click Run.

You get one metadata-edited copy per video. The video content stays the same, only the container header is rewritten - the operation is near-instant.

What gets stripped

  • Author / Company name
  • GPS coordinates (capture location)
  • Capture device (phone model, camera make)
  • Recording timestamp
  • Editing software signature
  • Other hidden tags

Re-stamping

  • Custom Title: Video title (e.g. 2026 Annual Promo).
  • Author / Artist: Rights owner (e.g. Demir Media - All Rights Reserved).

Leave them blank to write nothing in place of the stripped fields.

Examples

Privacy cleanup before social: Add phone videos, Strip All on, run. GPS and device info are gone.

Corporate stamp: Add the produced videos, Strip All on, Author Demir Media, Title 2026 Promo, run.

Drone footage location wipe: Add the drone videos, Strip All on, run. GPS coordinates are removed.

Old software trace cleanup: Add the edited videos, Strip All on, run. The "which program edited me" tag is gone.

Watch out

  • This does not touch the video content, only the metadata layer. Picture and audio quality are untouched.
  • The job is fast because the video stream is not re-encoded, just copied.
  • Some social platforms (Instagram, TikTok) strip metadata anyway on upload.
  • Stripped metadata is gone for good, back up important archives.
  • Editing metadata on digitally signed videos invalidates the signature.

License

Free tier has a monthly metadata cap. Office plan removes it.
