PDF Watermark
Adds a text or image (logo) watermark to PDF files. You control opacity, rotation, size and position. You can process many PDFs at once.
What it does
Use this to stamp "CONFIDENTIAL", "DRAFT", "SAMPLE" or your company logo across PDF pages. It deters unauthorised sharing, asserts copyright, and helps you tell drafts from final versions.
How to use
- Drag PDFs into the list.
- Pick a Watermark Type: Text or Image / Logo.
- For Text, type the words (e.g.
CONFIDENTIAL), pick a colour, decide if you want bold. - For Image, click Select Logo and pick a PNG/JPG file.
- Set Opacity, Position, Size and Rotation.
- Click Run.
You get one watermarked PDF per input.
Watermark types
- Text: Prints text across the page. You can set the wording, colour and bold.
- Image / Logo: Uses a PNG, JPG or BMP file as the watermark. Perfect for company logos.
Appearance settings
- Opacity: 5% to 100%. Low values (20-30%) look classic and stay readable. 100% is fully visible.
- Position: Six options.
- Center: Middle of the page, the most common choice.
- Top Left / Top Right: Small corner watermark.
- Bottom Left / Bottom Right: Like a signature at the bottom.
- Tile (Pattern): Repeating pattern covering the page.
- Size / Scale: 10 to 500. Default 60 gives a standard look.
- Rotation: 0° to 360°. Default 45° is the classic diagonal watermark.
Making it permanent
Burn-in (lock the watermark into the page background) is on by default. Turn it off and the watermark stays as a separate layer that a technical user could strip out. Leave it on and the watermark is baked into the page and cannot be removed.
Examples
CONFIDENTIAL stamps on contracts: Add the PDFs, text CONFIDENTIAL, colour red, opacity 25%, position Center, rotation 45°. Classic confidential look.
Logo on a draft report: Add the report, pick Image, choose your logo, opacity 40%, position Top Right, size 80.
Copyright pattern over every page: Add the PDF, text © Your Company 2026, opacity 15%, position Tile, size 40.
E-signature on the bottom corner: Add the PDF, pick Image, choose your signature image, opacity 100%, position Bottom Right, size 30.
Watch out
- With burn-in on, the watermark is permanent. Back up the original.
- For transparent backgrounds in image watermarks, use PNG.
- Very high opacity (80%+) makes it hard to read the underlying text.
- The same watermark applies to every page. To watermark specific pages only, Split the PDF first, then Merge afterwards.
- Encrypted PDFs are not handled. Unlock them with PDF Encrypt first.
